This place never fails to surprise you and your loved ones; it is a hidden gem in New Jersey. The Cape May County Park & Zoo in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township, New Jersey, offers free entry all year long to a collection of more than 550 animals comprising 250 species of mammal, birds, amphibians and reptiles in 85 acres of display and all the animals are well taken care of. The zoo is located at 707 U.S. Route 9 North in the heart of Cape May County’s Central Park. The Park and zoo collectively cover approximately 220 acres. The park commenced in 1978. Its chief exhibit areas are a 57-acre African Savanna, a free-flight aviary and the reptile collection constitutes its primary display section. There is a Park East, Park North and Park South along with the Zoo and Park Central. If the weather allows, the zoo is accessible every day except for Christmas. In winters business hours are from 10:00 am-3:30 pm, whereas in summers they are from 10:00 am-4:30 pm. The time alters with daylight saving time. 

The zoo has a trackless train which can take the visitors anywhere they want. It also has a unique carousel, in contrary to the typical horses on regular carousels; this one comprises zoo animals as the riding seats. • African Lions: African lions came to Cape May in November of 2014 from Jacksonville NJ. Siblings male Lex and female Bella are born in 2011.
• Alpaca: Stanley is quite a character. He jumps and gets super excited for his meal. He is friends with Norman who came from the same place as Stanley. They behave like best buddies who fight and play.
• American Black Bear: Roxy and Cody are siblings and they came to this zoo in 2005 as a private donation. They were born on June 9, 2004.
• Bald Eagle: this young male bald Eagle came to the zoo in 2017. 
• Ankole Watusi: in family of 5, this zoo has one cow, Bertha and one bull Jeff. Bertha was born on September 1, 2010 she came from Lake Tobias Wildlife Park. Jeff was a private donation. Three claves arrived in Stymie in 2015 as a private donation.
• Black Headed Ibis: Always near the river in the World of Birds, on the ground. Due to an injury received within the World of Birds, it was confined. It was frightened by shouting customers, and he flew against the wall. Use him as an illustration of why we request silence from visitors to our bird house. This specimen, which arrived at our facility in 1998 from Minnesota, is the last one housed in an AZA facility in the country. His birthday is April 12, 1984.
• Cotton Top Tamarin: We have Mom Cordelia and Dad Lil T with their vivacious new baby, Kida, here at the Cape May Zoo on 3 August 2020. Alloparenting is a unique behaviour displayed by cotton-top tamarins. This shows that the newborns are cared after by both parents, older siblings, and other troop members. Lil T certainly contributed to the bearing of Kida.

• Black Howler Monkey: We have a tiny colony of howler monkeys that live here at the CMC Zoo. Our oldest, Ghelfing, is also the mother of the other two howlers in the group. Born on October 13th, 1994, Ghelfing left the Pittsburgh Zoo in 1998. Bert and AJ are her two children. His sister AJ was born on September 2, 2009, and Bert was born on October 25, 2008. Their chief caretaker emphasised how they make her feel like she is a member of the troop by including her in their grooming sessions, which is a social bonding activity for them.
• Common Marmoset: Nico’s history and birthday are uncertain considering that he was a private donation in 2009. He is excellent, according to his caretakers, and enjoys people watching. Construct a Bear Factory Boxes are his chosen spot to lay his eggs.
• De Brazza’s Monkey: We have a tiny colony of Tot and Fry, two siblings, here at the CMC Zoo. Fry, who was born on November 9, 2011, is the younger of the two. Being young, he is vibrant and curious. On October 12, 2009, Tot, his sister, was born. The DeBrazza monkeys exhibit sexual dimorphism as well, with females being somewhat smaller than males. Thus, despite being the oldest sister, her younger brother is about twice as big as she is!

• Cheetah: Brothers Beenie and Buju, who are currently residing at the CMC Zoo, were born on September 7, 2011, at the Cincinnati Zoo. According to their keepers, they are very motivated by food and can be recognised by their height and tail markings. Beenie has a big white tip on the end of his tail, while Buju is the taller of the two brothers.
• Dromedary Camel: Our dromedary camel, “Marty,” may be found at the CMC Zoo. Dromedaries only have one hump.  We call our Bactrian camel “Walter.” They have two humps, Bactrians!  On January 4th, 2016, Marty, a young male dromedary camel, arrived from New York.  April 1, 2017, saw the birth of Walter, who shortly after joined Marty.
• Golden Headed Lion Tamarin: The 1.5-pound, native to Brazil, Anneli is a female golden-headed lion tamarin at the CMC Zoo. Along with Jimmy, Anneli shares a home in the zoo. When she triumphed in our Best Quarantine Hair competition back in May, this beautiful redhead gained fame in South Jersey!
• Elk: The bison and our elk, Emma, share a yard. She enjoys bathing in the pond. New comer Edith lives next door in the Alapaca neighborhood but could be moving to the Bison yard soon. Both of them dislike being considered to be moose or reindeer.

1. Animal Carousel: Carousels are open if the weather is favourable. You can purchase the tickets from the shop adjacent to the carousel.
2. Penny Machines: machines are present outside the reptile house and at the zoo exit and you can take along a piece of history by choosing your most like species from the wide variety present at the penny machines.
3. Photo Booth: grasp a memory of your visit with a photo from the photo booth present at the zoo exit.

4. Playgrounds: Just near the Zoo entrance, there are two pieces of playground equipment in the park. Next to the Bandstand, there is an area especially for toddlers. Across from the Courtyard, in the huge field, there is a larger playground with a swing set.
5. Picnic Pavilions: you can organize your next party at one of the 14 picnic pavilions. You just have to make an online reservation.
6. Fishing Pond: A currently renovated and freshwater pond at the park provides a fun and chilling day for the fishermen and new comers.
